We're just getting started

We’re talking the talk and walking the walk, giving our colleagues every opportunity to get out and play a part in making big differences in our region.

We give all our colleagues, from entry level roles all the way up to our executives, two paid volunteering days a year, and we get up to all sorts. From supporting employability workshops, mentoring, delivering meals and helping in foodbanks, we’re proud to play our part.

Fareshare Greater Manchester

Back in March we headed down to lend a hand at Fareshare Greater Manchester. This amazing charity provides millions of meals each year to people in need and works tirelessly every day to make their mission a reality. Helping to strengthen communities through food, reducing waste, and cutting CO2 emissions.

After a health and safety briefing and a talk from Kuda, who shared eye-opening facts about food waste and how Fareshare supports local charities, we got to work.

We spent the morning packing food in the warehouse, then in the afternoon, we joined the drivers to see firsthand where the food goes.

A huge thank you to the Fareshare team for being so welcoming.

Hide Out Youth Zone

We rolled up our sleeves, and got stuck in at Hide Out Youth Zone in Gorton.

It's the sister site to Salford Youth Zone, both operated by EMPOWER, whose incredible mission is to give children and young people a safe place to go, positive things to do, and trusted people to talk to.

We spent the day helping to refresh the onsite facilities, just in time to welcome back the young people.

It was an inspiring day, and we’re proud to support the amazing work EMPOWER does.

Cracking Good Food

In 2024, we donated our pre-loved kitchen kit to Cracking Good Food as part of their Kitchen Kit Call Out Campaign, where they redistribute donated kitchen kit into the community.

They provide equipment for cookery schools, community cooking groups and catering and business initiatives, alongside fighting for sustainable food security across Greater Manchester and beyond.

We've since been to help out at their Kitchen Kit redistribution event, and it was a fantastic opportunity to meet with the community groups and charities that benefit from Cracking Good Food's work.
